Summer Reading No. 2: Reading Strategies, Staying Put, and a Zebra on the loose.

Welcoming summer with open arms
8

Hello!

Whew. We made it. The Winchester children are joining the Storey children at the starting line of Summer today! Praise be! We’re so glad to be on the same page and schedule, even if that schedule looks a little bit nutty. We’re also wrapping up Betsy’s birthday week (her family is thankful) and we’re celebrating by making this week’s episode free for everybody! Think of it as a birthday gift from us to you.

June Book Club

This week we talked all about the Part II: Staying Put section of Ordinary Time. Next week will cover Part III: Staying Faithful. Be on the lookout for this week’s chat section over on Substack.

BEST OF THE WEEK:

Is there anything better than a birthday week? I’m sad mine is coming to an end but it’s been a treat and honestly, really busy with non-birthday activities and I’m looking forward to a little more downtime next week. Best buys of the week include this EOS shave oil which smells like heaven and this cute Target dress. My parents gifted me a Hulken bag for my birthday and after seeing friends use theirs, I cannot wait to schlepp all the things in it (the best part is it folds totally flat and stores like a dream.) -BKS

All the praise hands for making it to the end of the school year. I’m in disbelief that I have rising second graders and I 100% coped with this revelation with a little summer shopping spree (these jeans + this vest + this striped shirt) and a new audiobook from the library. I also threw these jelly shoes, this bento box and these cups into my buggy when I was picking up teacher gifts. -KNW

LONG STORY SHORT:

We are so happy it’s summer and we’re loving chatting about books with each other and with you (have you checked out this nostalgic trip to our childhood bookcases in the chat?). This week’s conversation included a lot of audiobook talk and recommendations so we thought it would be fun to giveaway a set of two audiobook credits through Libro.FM. Leave a comment with a book you’re eager to add to your library and we’ll choose a winner next Friday!!

With love,

Kristin + Betsy
